Who does the converting?

Almost every conversion is done by a command-line engine of the ArtCraft open-source suite (WordCraft, GridCraft, DeckCraft, PdfCraft, CADCraft, PhotoCraft, SoundCraft and FilmCraft), written by its authors and used under their MIT OR Apache-2.0 licences. The exception is reading and writing EPUB and Kindle books, which is our own Rust code. SwapCraft adds the drag-and-drop interface. Each app is installed with its engine and that engine's licences, or, if your PC already has a version of ArtCraft that we have tested, it uses yours and does not download a second copy.

Is it safe to run?

What you can check yourself, and what is still missing.

✓The source is public, and so are the build instructions: build it yourself instead of trusting the zip.
✓The engines are pinned: their exact versions and SHA-256 hashes are in engines.json, and the build refuses any file that differs.
✓The converters do not use the network. The hub asks GitHub for the latest release when it starts (you can switch that off with AUTO-CHECK), and downloads an app only when you press Install; the requests carry no file and no file names.
✓The downloads are plain files on GitHub Releases, with their SHA-256 shown next to the buttons; the hub checks every pack against the release's SHA256SUMS.txt before installing it.
!The programs are not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn on first run. Code signing is planned.

Unzip the whole folder first (do not run it from inside the zip), then put it in a short path such as C:\voidflare and run voidflare.exe.
